I went with one of Jessica’s best friends, Arona, to Wisconsin. Actually we were househunting of sorts, looking for Lakehouse properties and plots. I enjoy my company with Arona because it reminds me of my wife…in a different way of course. It reminds me of the times they shared, laughter and smiles between them. I also found that it is easier to grieve with another who’s experiencing a similar loss. It was difficult for me though to go “house hunting”, when that is something I dreamed of doing with my wife for many many years. So many feelings of guilt, betrayal, making her proud and honored at the same time it’s very hard to sort through them all. I cry unexpectedly sometimes, doesn’t take much but usually I have good days with horrible horrible moments. In the end we were just having fun, getting out into nature a bit and more importantly out of our own heads, grieve together and support each other.
