A Message of Love

I was busy completing some nominal task when I discovered the hundreds of cards and letters which were sent to support Jessica during her battle or support me after her passing. I finally finished off reading the rest of them, as you can imagine it is so very difficult to read such powerful messages. These letters, cards and personal messages through email and social media have been such a huge impact on my grief process and I want to thank each and every one of you who took the time to write or pray for us. It has opened up my eyes on who Jessica was to some; how our love inspired many and how God has given me the power to continue to follow in Jessica’s footsteps in order to keep that love and inspiration alive.

I read one final message which was hard to get through and that had to be the last for now. It put into perspective how powerful our love for each other was and still is.

We met this woman at a wedding during a time when things were very far from perfect, a time when Jess had been through many procedures and operations, fighting for her existence in so many ways and relying on our faith and love to get through each and every day. I would like to share that with you now:

“…I couldn’t help but notice you both and I have to admit I almost couldn’t keep my eyes off you both (not in a weird way). I have never seen such love, it’s almost unexplainable, actually I find myself at a loss for words. Even though this may sound strange I wanted to thank you. Thank you both for showing me what true love is and all that it’s about. It’s almost easy sometimes for people to say I love you, that they love someone or are in love, but I don’t really think most know the true meaning…but now I do. It’s helped me find that special, true and pure love within myself and learn how I feel about my loved ones.”

Never stop loving and especially during the most challenging chapters of your life. No matter what always remember that God loves you eternally and unconditionally.
