Man Beyond the Lake

I came across this beautiful, yet deeply sorrowful picture of Jessica and it reminded me of my most difficult of times. Stayed up all night writing this poem.
Waiting

The poor bereaved man just beyond the lake
The poor grieved man he thinks I sit and wait
The poor bemoaned man he looks but see me he cannot
The poor lamented man looks with eyes not with his heart
Smile with me kind man, give up your fruitless quest
Dance with me gentle man, lay your burden to rest
Laugh with me sweet man, dry your weary eyes
Praise with me tender man, let your faith arise
Sing with me honorable man, excuse your transgression
Savor with me selfless man, forbid your dream’s repression
Cheer with me brave man, allow not your growth to wait
Love with me loving man and accept your binded fate
Now rest your grieving eyes
You poor, poor grieving man
And when they open once again here you’ll sit by my side
For I am always by yours and never afar
And you always by mine if you just look with your heart
You poor bereaved man just beyond the lake
